Phishing

Phishing is a scam where hackers 'fish' for your personal details by using emails claiming to be from financial institutions. The email asks the recipient to provide sensitive information such as their username, password, User ID or PIN by providing a link leading to an authentic-looking website, enabling thieves to gather the details for later fraudulent use.

1. Protect yourself from email scams and Phishing

   1. Always access internet banking and our website by typing www.jtrustroyal.com into your browser. Never click on links provided in an email, especially links from senders claiming to be a financial institution. J Trust Royal will never send you an email asking for your account details, financial details, or your log in details for Internet Banking, JTR Mobile, or JTR Connect.

   2. Never provide your personal or security details, including customer IDs or passwords, in response to any email – even if it looks legitimate – without contacting the sender through official contact points (e.g. published phone number) to verify the request.

   3. Immediately delete emails of unknown origins, no matter how innocent or provocative the subject headings sound.

   4. Do not open any attachments or install any programs provided in suspicious emails.

   5. Change your Internet Banking password on a regular basis.
